Bay Clinic announced June 14 during a community event at the Cooper Center that it added Volcano Village to its Mobile Health Unit deployment schedule.
The unit will provide medical and dental services to the Volcano community starting Thursday.
“In 2016, the Rotary Club of Volcano asked us to look into establishing health care services in Volcano Village,” said Harold Wallace, Bay Clinic CEO. “It took awhile, but we are excited to start this service for the people of Volcano and thank the Rotary Club of Volcano for supporting us through the two-year process to make it happen.”
The unit will be stationed at the Cooper Center and offer dental care from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month and medical care from 1-5 p.m. the last Thursday of each month. Additional deployment days and scope of services might be added if there is enough demand to justify the expansion.
“This has been a long time coming,” said George Garrett, president of the Rotary Club of Volcano. “It’s a great thing to finally have access to medical and dental care in Volcano Village rather than having to travel out of our community for it.”
