Hilo tour company Jack’s Tours announced Wednesday that the longtime business will permanently close at the end of the month.
According to a letter sent from Jack’s Tours management, the business can no longer maintain operations because of the decline in island tourism following the Kilauea eruption and closure of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The last day of the company’s operations will be July 31.
“We are very grateful for your business partnership and want to express our thank you and appreciation for all your support over the years,” the letter read.
A full story will appear in Friday’s edition of the Tribune-Herald.
