Earth and Ocean Festival scheduled
The Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce invites the public to its Earth and Ocean Festival from 10 a.m.-4.pm. Saturday at the Makaeo Pavilion at the Old Kona Airport Park in Kailua-Kona.
The event will showcase the unique treasures of Hawaii for the community by highlighting traditional Hawaiian cultural practices, ocean stewardship and conservation via booths, hands-on activities, presentations, entertainment and five new educational tours.
Tours — $10 for Kona Cloud Forest Sanctuary, Experience NELHA and Royal Footsteps Along the Kona Coast, and free for Coral Reefs and Tidepools, and the Makaeo Walking Path Morning Walk — are scheduled for various times. The exhibition tent opens at 10:30 a.m., with activities on the indoor stage starting at 10 a.m.
