Goodwill’s Immigrant Services Program is now named the Employment Core Services for Immigrants Program.
The name change reflects how the program fits within the scope of employment core services supported by funding from the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (DLIR), Office of Community Services (OCS).
The goal of the ECSFI is to help non-U.S. citizens in Hawaii achieve sustained employment. The program helps give immigrants the skills and techniques that will give them an advantage in today’s economy. The ECSFI Program offers training in a relaxed and culturally sensitive classroom environment. Participants direct their services by participating in the planning process and actively searching for jobs.
This program is made possible through the support of the DLIR-OCS, state of Hawaii and appropriations made by the Hawaii Legislature.
