Mahalo Letter: Easter Dash was a success with community’s help

Easter Dash was a success with community’s help

The community of Mountain View wants to say a huge mahalo to all the people who helped organize this year’s Easter Dash for the keiki and their families. Among them, our chief organizer Kaira from Hilo Coffee Mill, the entire staff at Hilo Coffee Mill, Stan Kaina for beautiful music, the Carousel of Aloha Carvers, Neighborhood Place of Puna, QLCC (Queen Lili’uokalani Children’s Center), Kurtistown Assembly of God, Salvation Army-Family Intervention Services, Merle from County of Hawaii Parks &Recreation, the Glimane Ohana, Kim Springer, Steve Eagle (aka Peter Rabbit) and Ray, Carmina and Kiev Morales for everything they do for us. We thank the many volunteers that helped with all of the activities, the H.I.C.C.U.P. Circus, our Farmer’s Market vendors, and the Snow Factory. Truly it was a community working together for the community.

The Easter Dash was held on April 19 at the Hilo Coffee Mill. Canned goods were donated to assist the free meal programs provided by the Neighborhood Place of Puna and the Kurtistown Assembly of God. Games and activities for the kids were provided by various community-minded people and agencies. We thank everyone involved! See you next year!
