The members of the Ocean View Evangelical Community Church are reaching out to their community in a very tangible way. From 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, the congregation will host its second Ho‘olaule‘a Luau, and the whole community is invited.
“Everything, including food, entertainment, door prizes and games, is free,” said a church spokesman. “Like God’s salvation.”
The menu includes lomi lomi salmon, chicken long rice and kalua pig, while supplies last. But about 400 persons attended the event last year, and the servers did not run out of food.
There will be a Bouncy House for the keiki, face painting, games and prizes for adults and children. Keiki I.D. is available and there will be a prayer booth. Worship team musicians and dancers will perform along with special speakers.
This gift to the community will be presented at the church at 92-8977 Leilani Circle in Ocean View. Directional signs will be posted in Ocean View the day of the event.
This is an alcohol- and drug-free event. Call 939-9089 for more information.
