A brush fire is contained after burning about 40 acres at Pohakuloa Training Area, according to a U.S. Army spokesman.
The fire is located in the Keamuku Maneuver Area. No live fire occurs in that area, the spokesman said.
It got as close as 0.5 miles from the Waikii Ranch after being reported Wednesday morning.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
