Police have released from custody a 57-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery and second-degree theft for the knifepoint robbery Wednesday of First Hawaiian Bank’s Pahoa branch.

Lt. Samuel Thomas said Friday Anthony Gover was released pending further investigation “due to a medical issue,” but didn’t elaborate.
