Biofuel pipeline receives OK

The state Board of Land and Natural Resources granted preliminary approval Friday to a Hilo company for the use of a pipeline to transport biofuels from ships docked at Hilo Harbor.

Final approval for Hoku Kai Biofuels LLC is dependent on a finding of no significant impact from an environmental assessment.

The board also deferred action on a proposed master plan for Kiholo State Park.
