The “fire hose” returned at the Kamokuna ocean entry following a sea cliff collapse Feb. 2 inside Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. This photo was taken Saturday where the Pu‘u ‘O‘o lava flow enters the sea. A nearly 330-foot-long and 30- to 40-foot-wide section of the cliff fell into the ocean, briefly interrupting this lava feature, the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory estimates. HVO crews will return to the area today to do further assessments.
