Hawaiian Airlines cancels flights for Big Island
Hawaiian Airlines cancelled four roundtrip flights between Hilo and Honolulu today due to the arrival of Hurricane Iselle.
The last flight leaving Hilo was scheduled for 4 p.m., said spokeswoman Ann Botticelli.
As of 2 p.m., it was unclear if flights would be cancelled Friday.
“It’s really going to depend on the path of the storm,” Botticelli said.
Two roundtrip flights between Kailua-Kona and Honolulu were also cancelled today, she said.
The Hawaii Tourism Authority announced that American Airlines, Island Air, Mokulele, United Airlines and US Airways also cancelled flights in the state.
