Hilo bail bondsman arrested

A Hilo bail bondsman has been charged for allegedly threatening two men Saturday night at a Waikiki hotel.

A Honolulu Police Department spokeswoman said that 35-year-old Matthew P. McGill was charged Monday morning with terroristic threatening and impersonating a police officer.

McGill owns Hawaii Surety Agency LLC, which does business as Aloha Bail Bonds LLC.

Bail was set at $1,500. The spokeswoman said that McGill remained in custody as of late Monday afternoon.

Police said McGill threatened a 24-year-old man and a 27-year-old man at the Embassy Suites Waikiki Beach Walk hotel.
