Sheriffs capture furlough escapee

State sheriffs deputies captured missing extended furlough inmate Donald Soares at about 7:15 a.m. Wednesday in Puna.

Soares failed to check-in to a Kona extended furlough house July 30.

Soares is serving time for burglary and theft. Escape is expected to be added to his charges.

His next parole hearing was scheduled for November.
