Theone Keam Yung Chock, 61, of Honolulu died Dec. 1 at Kuakini Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a physical education teacher at Kamehameha School Kapalama Campus. Service held. Survived by husband, John Sabel III of Honolulu; sons, John “Jake” Sabel IV and Luke Tan Sabel, both of Honolulu; mother, Laura Chock of Hilo; brothers, Terrill Chock, Lorrin (Dr. Naomi Takemoto-Chock) Chock and Dr. Kyle (Lori) Chock, all of Hilo. Arrangements by Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary.
Catherine Puanani Margaret Bator, 91, died in Kaneohe. Born in Hilo, she was a retired phone operator for Andrade’s and Outrigger Hotel. Services will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. No flowers. Casual attire. Survived by sons, Wayne Kimi, Bobby Donald and Patrick “Bunny” Bator; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arrangements by Hawaiian Park Mortuary.
Paul Edward Martin, 51, of Hilo died Dec. 10. Born in Van Nuys, Calif., he was a furniture refinisher, real estate investor and entrepreneur. Services will be held in Kona and Oahu in January. Survived by his wife, Gina Nozoe Martin of Hilo; son, Paul Martin of Hilo; daughter, Summer Martin of Hilo; brothers, Richard (Joanie) Martin and Bill (Shari) Martin, both of Honolulu, and Ben Martin of Pahoa; sisters, Mary (Bruce) Yannell of Kaneohe, Oahu, Rita (Joey) Forseca of Pahoa, Laura (François) Martin of France; in-laws, Joe and Julia Haehn of Murrieta, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret Kuhea Contento, 83, Kailua-Kona died Dec. 3 at home. Born in Honolulu, she retired as owner of Contento Travel in Menlo Park, Calif., was a member of Na Kupuna Ola Kona, Daughters of Hawaii, Kaahumanu Society, Alu Like and was a hula dancer. Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 27 at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona for a 9 a.m. graveside service and burial. Casual attire. Survived by husband, Antonio Contento Jr., of Kailua-Kona; son, Bradley Contento of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Agnes Lee of Honolulu, Virginia Thames of San Diego, Calif., Lei Akina of Aiea, Oahu; a grandson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ry-Lee Sele-Pang, 1, died at Queen’s Medical Center. Born in Hilo. Celebration of Life will be noon Sunday, at the Wailoa State Park, Pavillian 3. Survived by mother, Tyaony Luis-Kahalioumi of Hilo; father, Lolilo Sele-Pang of Hilo; sister, Ty-Lee Cadaoas of Hilo; maternal grandparents, Kristen and Tara Kahalioumi of Kona; paternal grandmother, Luella Pang of Hilo; great-grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Henry “Kaleo” Rafael is survived by brother, Phillipo Rafael of Nahalehu; sisters Marcella Rafael of Hilo and Kanani Rafael of Hilo. Incorrect information was provided to the Tribune-Herald at the time of publication.
