WAILUKU, Maui (AP) — A 57-year-old Maui man died after he was found unconscious beneath a large fallen tree.
Police say Joseph Bento of Napili was clearing his property in Honokohau Valley on Monday afternoon. A friend found him under the tree about 5 p.m. that day. Bento had multiple injuries.
Emergency responders tried to resuscitate him at the scene and then pronounced him dead.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
