HONOLULU (AP) — A report to the Hawaii Legislature says certified medical marijuana patients continue to face challenges obtaining the drug.
Transportation of the drug to the state is among the hurdles noted in the report.
The report will be presented Tuesday at a meeting of the Medical Marijuana Dispensary System Task Force. The group was set up by the legislature to make recommendations for a marijuana dispensary.
The 21-member group had its first meeting in June and discussed obstacles faced by people who may legally use pot to treat chronic, debilitating medical conditions.
Patients and caregivers have complained Hawaii’s medical marijuana law contains nothing about how marijuana is to be obtained other than saying small amounts can be legally grown.
