Phyllis Marie Hamilton, 90, of Keaau died March 27 at home. Born in Manchester, N.H., she was a retired Realtor for Sleeping Giant Realty. No services; scattering of ashes at a later date. Survived by brother, Howard Walsh; daughter, Chris (Kele) Oda; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements by Borthwick Hawaii Funeral Home.

James Toshiyuki Minato, 92, of Hilo, died March 14 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired director for the state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations Workers’ Compensation Division, U.S. Army World War II veteran, retired Hawaii Army National Guard captain, U.S. Navy Seabees veteran, and member of Church of World Messianity. Services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by son, Fredrick Minato of Aiea, Oahu; daughter, Carol (Ronald) Kashimoto of Honolulu; stepdaughter, Rose Marie (Harold Matsunaga) Kurita of Lihue, Kauai; sisters, Teruko Okumura and Karen Yamada of California; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews. Walter Kazuo Sugi, 90, of Honaunau, died Feb. 11. Born in Honaunau, he was a retired electrician for American Electric Co., coffee farmer, U.S. Army veteran, member of Honaunau Kumiai No. No. 3, Korean War Veterans Association West Hawaii Chapter No. 279, American Legion Post No. 60, IBEW Local 1186 and Kona Historical Society, and supporter of VFW. Visitation 2-3 p.m. Saturday, April 12 at Kona Outdoor Circle Educational Center, 76-6280 Kuakini Hwy. in Kailua-Kona. Memorial service at 3 p.m. Private inurnment. Casual or aloha attire; no flowers. Survived by wife, Linda Sugi; daughters, Lovelyn (Timothy) Louie and Lynette (Brian) Kinoshita; sons, Bryan Sugi and Tilthon (Toni) Sugi; brother, George Sug;, sister, Helen Takesue; hanai brother, Koshi Tomono; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
