Katherine Keiko Higgins, 81, of Kailua-Kona died July 25 at her residence. Born in Los Angeles, California, she was an administrative assistant for a geological engineering company. Private services. Survived by husband, Max Higgins of Kailua-Kona; brother, Shig (Maya) Shiwota of Mauna Lani; and three nephews. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.
Clifford Shawn Olsen, 55, of Mountain View died Feb. 11 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hollywood, Florida, he was a retired roofer. No services. Survived by sons, Matthew Olsen of Portland, Oregon, Noah Olsen of Hilo, Kevin Olsen of Hilo; sister, Diane Hubbell of Florida; brother, Keith Olsen of Wisconsin; and one grandson. Louise Jane Robertson, 69, of Glenwood, Oahu, died July 9 at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Long Beach, California, she was a retired computer graphic artist for the Big Island Homes &Land Magazine, and worked as a caregiver. Celebration of life to be held Saturday, Aug. 16, at Christ Lutheran Church, 595 Kapiolani St. Visitation at 9:30 a.m.; Service at 10:30 a.m. with potluck to follow. Committal service on March 29, 2015 at Greenwood Cemetery in York, Nebraska. Survived by spouse, John Robertson; son, James Robertson; daughter, Laura Robertson; sister, Janet Winkler of Texas; father, George Bolton; mother, Gertrude Bolton; and six grandchildren. Winifred “Chiko” Mitsuko Serion, 64, of Kealia, South Kona, died July 14 at her daughter’s residence in Keauhou. Born in Kealia, South Kona, she was a former cashier for Kailua-Kona Chevron and a salesperson for the former Typewriter Center. Visitation at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Keei Ward located at 84-5236 Hawaii Belt Road, Honaunau, HI 96726. Service at 9:30 a.m. Lei and flowers welcome. Survived by sons, Russell (Jaycie) Serion of Kealia, Ryan (Doralyn Paulo) Serion of Honaunau; daughter, Puanani (Kauhane Smith) Serion; sisters, Gladys (Marium Cornelio) Fujihara of Keauhou, Lorraine (James) Motoyama all of Kealakekua, Lillian (Elson) Mori Sr. of Kealakehe, Arlene (Michael Reilly) of Kealakekua, Barbara Jean (Grant) Shiraishi of Kealakehe; brothers, Melvin Fujihara of Kailua-Kona, Howard Fujihara, Phillip (Roselle) Fujihara all of Kealakehe, Douglas (KimberlyAnn Fukuda-Edwards) Fujihara of Hilo, Harold Fujihara of Kealia; twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
