Robert Michael A. Mattos, 79, of Hilo died June 6 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired custodian for the University of Hawaii and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation 5:30-9 p.m. Monday (June 19) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation again 8-10 a.m. Tuesday (June 20) at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Burial at Alae Cemetery, new section. Survived by wife, Aileen Pestano Mattos of Hilo; sons, Robert (Cheryl) Mattos Jr. of Volcano, David (Laurie) Mattos of Hilo and Kirk (Sherry) Mattos of Ocean View; hanai daughter, Sherry Macayan (John Macayan) Mattos of Hilo; brothers, Thomas (Jackie) Mattos of Wisconsin, John “Jippy” (Connie) Mattos of Hilo, Roy (Jill) Mattos of Honokaa and Gordon (Adele) Mattos of Kekaha, Kauai; sisters, Rosemary (Deacon Jerry) Nunogawa and Bernie (Ralph) Tomas of Hilo; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews. Benjamin Tabarejo, 82, of Honolulu died May 19 in Honolulu. He was born in Kohala. Services held. Survived by Janet (Guzman) Mello, Remedios (Yanos) Ebanez, Rita (Yanos) Kauina, Joy (Yanos) Lorita, Ronald Yanos, cousins, nieces and nephews.
