Jefferson “Jeff” Robert Falkner, 85, of Waikoloa died June 15 at home. Born in Bessemer, Ala., he was owner of Jm Enterprises, grower of Singapore plumeria and white pineapple, a retired electronics engineer, U.S. Marines Korean War veteran and a member of Camp Tarawa Detachment No. 1255, Marine Corps League. Survived by wife, Marianne Falkner of Waikoloa; sons, Jeff (Becky) Falkner, Jr. of Newbury Park, Calif., and Sean (Karen) Falkner of Long Beach, Calif.; daughters, Lucia (Lance) Loughlin of California and Maurya (John) Freckman of Smartville, Calif.; stepsons, Marshall (Janice) Tate and Steven Tate of Big Sky, Mont.; stepdaughter, Leslie (Bob) Grau of Orange, Calif.; nine grandchildren and a great-grandson; two nephews and a niece. Raymond Thomas Gaughen, 69, of Waikoloa died June 15 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired heavy equipment operator, gradesetter and member of AFL-CIO Operating Engineers Union Local No. 3. Jane F. Hanna Herbst, 89, of Hilo died May 24 in El Cajon, Calif. Born in Rochester, N.Y., she was a nurse, Realtor/broker and owner of the former Herbst Realty, and member of St. Joseph Church, serving as a eucharistic minister and on the Parish Advisory Council. Memorial mass 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Church, followed by reception. Private committal. Survived by sons, Gregory Herbst of Volcano and Arthur (Jeanne) Herbst Jr. of Hilo; daughters Mary Margaret (Allan) James of El Cajon, Calif., Michelle (Martin) Branco of Wright City, Mo, and Kathryn (Ronald) Masulit of Hilo; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Chantle Jaiden Palilio, infant girl, of Hilo was stillborn June 4 at Hilo Medical Center. Viewing and funeral service at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Born Temple Church behind Hilo Shopping Center. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, infant section. Casual attire.
