Amy Kobayashi, 97, of Hilo died June 8. Born in Hilo, she retired as an admissions clerk for the Hilo Medical Center. Private services held. No flowers, koden. Survived by sons, Raymond (Gloria) Kobayashi of Hilo, Rayson Kobayashi of California, Rodney (Verna) Kobayashi of Washington and Roydon (Lisa) Kobayashi of Hilo; daughter, Ailene (Dennis) Fujimoto of Nevada; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Paulette Carreira Luiz, 63, of Papaikou died June 17, at her residence. Born in Hilo, she was a waitress for Miwa’s and Osaka Restaurant in Hilo and a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou. Friends may call Sunday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Visitation from 9-11 a.m. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by son, Elliot James Fernandez of Washington; three grandchildren; brothers, George (Marcy) Luiz and Michael (Aza) Luiz of Washington; David (Audrey) Luiz of Papaikou; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Linda Christine Silva, 65, of Pahoa died June 22 at home. Born in Honolulu, she was a homemaker. Celebration of life at 1 p.m. Saturday at 16-2116 Lehua Drive, Pahoa, in the Ainaloa Subdivision. Inurnment to be at noon Monday at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2. Casual attire. Survived by husband, Joseph Silva Jr. of Pahoa; sons, Anthony (Darnell Haraguchi) Menzsa of Pahoa, Jeffrey (Erica) Menzsa of Volcano and Joseph (Danielle Silvas) Silva III of Pahoa; daughters, Cheryl (Richard Jones) Menzsa of Honolulu, Dawn (Gavien) DeMello of Hilo and Kathy (Brandon) Andrade of Pahoa; brothers, John (Debbie) Pina Jr. of Hawaiian Beaches, and Archie Pina of Hilo; sisters, MaryAnn Jaentsch of Hawaiian Acres and Phylis Segawa of Volcano; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
