Marina Sybille Katharina (Stampf) Alofaituli, 55, of Germany, formerly of Hilo, died Feb. 10 in Germany. Born in Bottrop, Germany, she was a retired nurse and jewelry designer. Scattering of ashes 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, in a location of her choice. Survived by husband, Norbert Fries; sons, Andy (Malia) Ahuna-Alofaituli and David Lohman; grandchildren, Logan, Kaiona, Keola, and Iokepa. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Irene Shizuko Hashimoto, 89, of Hilo, died March 11 at home. Born in Honohina, she was retired from Brewer Chemical laboratory and a member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin. Services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by daughters, Jo-Ann (Russell) Yamane of Kahului, Maui, and Sharon (Wilfred) Tochiki of Honolulu; sister, Nancy (Tom) Funai of Hawthorne, Calif.; grandchildren, Tracy Yamane and Sheri Tochiki; nieces and nephews. Betty Ann May, 78, of Stanton, Calif., formerly of Hilo, died Dec. 9, 2013, in Los Alamitos, Calif. Born in Hilo, she was a retired travel agent. Visitation 3:30-4 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary West Chapel in Honolulu. Service at 4 p.m. Private scattering of ashes in Hilo. Aloha attire. No flowers. Memorial donations to Science Care or American Heart Association. Survived by daughter, Keli Puanani May of Las Vegas; son, Darin B. May of San Francisco; brother, Alan J. Baptiste of Agoura Hills, Calif. Arrangements by Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary.
