Ernest “Pee Wee” Macomber Breithaupt, 76, of Waiohinu died May 5 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Ka‘u, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for the county roads division in Kona and U.S. Army veteran. Celebration of life 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday (May 20) at Waiohinu Park. Survived by wife, Annie Breithaupt of Waiohinu; sons, Edwin Dean Breithaupt and Royce Breithaupt of Waiohinu, Ernest (Sylvania) Breithaupt of Pahala; hanai daughter Cliff-Anne (Ronald Baniaga) of Ocean View; sister, Helen Velez of Waiohinu; nine grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Richard “Rickie” Estencion Campogan, 73, of Captain Cook died April 27 at Hospice of Kona Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born in Keei, he was a retired laborer and member of Laborers International Union Local No. 368. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday, May 27, at Puka‘ana Congregational Church in South Kona. Service at 10 a.m. Survived by son, Nathan (Ashley Kaiawe) Campogan of Captain Cook; brothers, Demetrio Campogan of Honolulu and Frank (Lita) Campogan of Captain Cook; sisters, Connie Perez of Whittier, Calif., and Gloria (Jim) Phillips of Harbor City, Calif.; two grandchildren; nieces and nephew.
