ARCHITECTURAL TOUR OF HILO DEC. 15 

Where: Lyman Museum, Hilo

Details: Judith Kirkendall and Leslie Lang lead driving tour of “Domestic Structures of East Hawaii.” See and go inside culturally significant homes and inns. Tour includes lunch, water, a supplemental handout and transportation. $50 members; $65 nonmembers. Call to register; www.lymanmuseum.org.

LYMAN PRESENTS ‘A MAKAHIKI CAROL’

‘WHAT TO KNIT WHEN YOU’RE EXPECTING’

Details: Nikki Van De Car presents her new book full of charming knitted fashions and accessories for baby. The booties, bibs, toys, blankets, and clothing are one-of-a-kind items to welcome a special new life. It all began with her blog that followed her life with baby.

‘RHINOS AND CORSETS’ HEADED FOR HILO

SASANA: THE BURMA PORTFOLIO

When: Through Jan. 12 

Details: Journey deep into Burma and experience a Buddhist culture rich in tradition and history. Sasana (acts of kindness) is a collection of large-format black and white photographs taken between 2006 and 2011 by Dr. Steven Garon, a volunteer with Aloha Medical Mission.
