Details: Thursdays through Sept. 27. Mobi mats provide wheelchair access on sand. Beach wheelchair, handheld shower and flotation equipment available. Bring support; access is rugged route around left side of building. Free.

Details: Volcano Art Center Rain Forest Runs: half marathon, 10K, 5K walk in village. $35-75, with free runs for keiki ages 1-7 at 10 a.m. On Aug. 17, benefit buffet dinner for Friends Feeding Friends from 5-7 p.m.; $15, $8.50 for ages 5-11, free for wee ones.
