JOIN IN THE BIG DOG’S RESOLUTION RUN/WALK 

Where: Coconut Island, Hilo 

When: 8 a.m. Dec. 30 

Details: Big Dog’s Resolution 5K Run/Walk benefits the Food Basket. Cost is $5 or a canned good. Resolve to be healthy and fit, while giving to the less fortunate. Call 969-7400.

WALKING IN THE WILD MEDITATION 

Where: ‘Iole, historic Bond Homestead, Kapaau 

When: 8:30-10 a.m. Jan. 5 

Details: Gavin Harrison leads silent hike on first Saturday of each month. Different route each month, and not strenuous. The meditation concludes with a few minutes of silence together followed by refreshments. Bring a hat, hiking shoes/ boots, sunscreen, bottled water, a towel or cushion for rest stops in nature, raingear, mosquito repellent and small hiking backpack if desired. Suggested donation: $10-$15.

HAWAII REGGAE, AGRICULTURAL FAIR 

Where: Mooheau Park, Hilo 

When: Noon Feb. 10 

Details: Keep It Green Hawaii presents fifth annual Hawaii Reggae and Agricultural Fair. Entertainment, cultural food vendors, or ganic farmers, CPR instruction. Free for whole family.

Details: Tiger feeding at 3:30 p.m. daily. Saturday’s Petting Zoo is 1:30-2:30 p.m. Free.
