PEOPLE AND LAND OF KAHUKU
Where: HVNP Kahuku Unit

Details: Two-mile, three-hour moderate hike explores pastures, quarry, airstrip and 1868 lava fields. Rangers explain how people lived here, from earliest Hawaiians to today. Walk in emerging native forest, hear history of violent earthquakes and eruptions and the residents who survived them.
