Where: Kalopa State Park, Kalopa Road, Honokaa

HULA ARTS AT KILAUEA 

Where: VAC Gallery, HVNP 

When: 10:30 a.m. June 30 

Details: Hula kahiko informance with kumu Leilehua Yuen and Manu Josiah. A 50-minute narrated demonstration of the preparation, protocol and offering of traditional hula and chant at the hula platform near the Volcano Art Center Gallery. Hands-on cultural demonstration from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on gallery porch.

When: 9:30-10:30 a.m. Mondays, 11 a.m.-noon, Saturdays 

Details: Free guided tour through old-growth Hawaiian rain forest; easy, 1/7-mile loop trail. Learn about native plants, birds, ecological and geological features, cultural usage of flora and fauna.
