Details: Celebrate ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center’s seventh anniversary at the annual KTA Family Free Day, featuring “Journey through the Universe.” The exhibit hall and planetarium presentations will be free to the public. Pictures and Stories about new Discoveries in Astronomy”; 2:30 p.m., “Celebrating the Past, Embracing the Present and Inspiring the Future.”

HUI OKINAWA TAIKO, MARK YAMANAKA AT BENEFIT FOR TOHOKU EARTHQUAKE, TSUNAMI
Where: Hawaii Community College cafeteria, Hilo

Details: Support children in Japan who need physical and emotional assistance after 2011 disaster. Family-friendly benefit will include performance by Hui Okinawa Kobudo Taiko drum, food booth and silent auction of items donated by local businesses and artists. Mark Yamanaka will sing. Proceeds benefit Japanese organizations.
