‘Odd Couple’ first in Waimea reader’s theater lineup


Coordinators of the Waimea Community Theatre and Chorus (WCTC) announce the first in its series of reader’s theater performances to supplement its 50th Anniversary Season of productions: Neil Simon’s incredibly successful comedy “The Odd Couple,” directed by Elsbeth McKeen.

This play shares the story of Felix Unger and Oscar Madison, the play that spawned a movie and a long-running television series with Tony Randall and Jack Klugman. This production will be presented at Saint James’ Episcopal Church for one day only. There will be no charge for the show, but please consider a voluntary donation or some food for the Food Bank. Performances will be Saturday, Sept. 14, at 3 and 7:30 p.m. at Saint James’ Episcopal Church in Waimea.

The cast: Oscar, John Sucke; Felix, Matt Binder; Cecily, Anjalisa Aitken; Gwendolyn, Alexandra Bernstein; Speed, Robert Haber; Murray, Luke Aitken; Roy, Bill Cruise, and Vinnie, Ricky Delorey II.
