E. Hawaii’s first Lilikoi Festival and Cookbook Nov. 2

The folks at Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary and The Center for Spiritual Living of East Hawaii invite the community to share a love of lilikoi — aka passion fruit — with the world via a fall Lilikoi Cookbook and Festival on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Hawaiian Paradise Park Activity Center in Keaau.

The benefit for the two nonprofit organizations will feature a cooking contest, celebrity chef demonstrations, vendors, educational talks, entertainment and sales of the cookbook featuring recipes from the community.

“We invite you to submit your favorite lilikoi recipes,” said a spokesman for the coordinating committee.

To submit a recipe, please visit www.lilikoifestival.com or send a self-addressed stamped envelope for the submission form to: HC3, Box 13104, Keaau, HI 96749. For more information, please call 966-7372. Deadline for submissions to the cookbook is April 1.
