Free SAT, ACT prep programs for Big Isle students
The eKnowledge company and its partners are continuing to offer students and families in Hawaii free $200 SAT or ACT prep programs, said a spokesman for The SAT/ACT Donation Project supported by professional athletes.
The project was started in 2005 by eKnowledge, with support and partnerships with caring athletes from the NFL and MLB, as well as more than 100 corporations, foundations and not-for-profit organizations. To date, the project has provided more than 200,000 SAT/ACT Prep Programs valued at more than $42 million at no profit to the company.
“This is a truly amazing opportunity for our student athletes and their families. Every student who wants to attend college must complete the SAT or ACT test, so these prep programs are invaluable,” said B. Elliot Hopkins, director of sports, sanctioning and educational services for the National Federation of State High School Associations.
The donated PowerPrepPrograms (DVD format) contain 170 video lessons, hundreds of practice questions with detailed explanations, 18 quizzes and more than 40 hours of class work.
Parents and high school students may obtain their copy of the SAT or ACT PowerPrep Program at www.eKnowledge.com/HTH.
The SAT/ACT Donation Project covers 100 percent of the $200 retail cost. There is a nominal per-student fee for shipping, student support and materials of $17.55 per program.
