Kamehameha to celebrate founder’s day
On Wednesday Kamehameha Schools campuses will celebrate Ke Ali’i Bernice Pauahi Paki Bishop’s birthday. The public is invited to join in this celebration of her life and legacy at 6 p.m. in the Bishop Memorial Chapel at the William Charles Lunalilo Center on the Kamehameha Schools Hawaii Campus in Keaau.
The guest speaker will be the new po’o kumu of the Keaau campus, Holoua Stender. Officials will also welcome the new kahu, Ruth Farrell. The Royal Order of Kamehameha I, ‘Ahahui Ka‘ahumanu, Hale O Na Ali‘i O Hawaii and the alumni chorus, Na Leo Mele O Kamehameha no Hilo, will participate.
“We invite you to come and bring your ohana and friends to share in this very special occasion as we also recognize the 125th anniversary of the Kamehameha Schools,” said spokesman Robert Yamada.
