Kilauea Military Camp sets Veterans Day event
Kilauea Military Camp will hold its annual Veteran’s Day Ceremony on Monday, Nov. 11, at 3 p.m. on the front lawn. This year’s theme is “Honoring All Who Served.”
Lt. Col. Eric Shwedo, commander of Pohakuloa Training Area, will be this year’s keynote speaker, and Senior Master Sgt. Makani Miller of the 291st Combat Command Squadron in Hilo will be the guest speaker. Other participants include Pastor Raymond Glory, Robert Hunt, Katherine Wilson, Armando Mendez, Raymond Dustin and Hilo Civil Air Patrol reps.
KMC will provide all veterans who are in attendance at the ceremony a free dinner buffet. Advanced registration is required by calling 967-8371 before Nov. 8. Guests must present military or veteran ID.
For all others, the price of the buffet is $24.95 for adults and $12.50 for children ages 6-11. This is a National Park Fee-Free Day, and park entrance fees will be waived.
KMC will also be holding an open house, and invites the public to come experience how “KMC serves America’s Troops” by enjoying its facilities and services — dining, recreation, tours, lodging and more. For more information on the Veterans Day Ceremony or Kilauea Military Camp, call 967-8371.
