Learn to dance in Hilo
Big Island Eclectic Waltz will welcome back Campbell Miller as she leads a series of “Fusion Flavors” dance workshops on Saturday, May 11, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Hilo Elks Club at 150 Kinoole St. in Hilo. Dancers of all skill levels are welcome.
A Saturday night dance will follow the day’s classes. Admission of $15 includes a mini-lesson and DJ’d music until 10 p.m.
A University of Texas at Austin dance instructor, Miller inspires her students with fluid body movement, an engaging teaching style and contagious enthusiasm for all types of dancing. She especially loves the creativity of waltz, the expressiveness of blues and the endless possibilities of fusion — how to combine elements from styles such as blues, tango, waltz, night club two step and swing (West/East/Lindy) to be able to dance to a variety of music.
