Bart St. Armand paints a picture of the old Hilo Hotel building in Kalakaua Park on Friday afternoon. St. Armand is part of the Plein Air Artists of Hawaii Island that meets Thursdays, but he says he also likes to paint whenever the weather is nice. The group is organized by local artist Leslie Sears. If you would like to join the group visit, http://www.lesliesearsart.com/hilos-paint-group.html. Normally a landscape painter, St. Armand said as he painted, “I want to try to paint some of these building because they are so fascinating.”
