The Waimea Arts Council invites island artists to submit art with a paniolo or horse theme for its August show at the Firehouse Gallery in Waimea. Artists must be 18 or older.
Artists are asked to bring up to two pieces of original art in any medium on Sunday, July 29, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. There are no entry fees. However, when pieces sell there is a suggested donation of 40 percent of the sale price to the Waimea Arts Council. There are no size limitations.
Artists can also bring up to 10 prints mounted in clear sleeves for the print bins. Cards with original images are also welcome. Exhibiting artists are asked to sit at the gallery for four hours during the month of August while the show is on display. Regular hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Assistance in hanging the show on Sunday, July 29, at 2 p.m. would be welcomed, with no experience necessary.
