RFAS Applause for Paws 2-for-1 Adoptathon Saturday
Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary debuts a new event on Saturday — its first Applause for Paws 2-for-1 Adoptathon — at its newly opened RFAS Adoption Center at the beginning of the sanctuary property in mauka Kurtistown.
Everyone is invited to the fun event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“Families are invited to come visit with our most-adoptable dogs and cats living in the adoption center,” said a sanctuary spokesman. “They can also see pictures of our other wonderful dogs and cats available for adoption.
“We hope many animal lovers will come and enjoy light pupus and drinks while visiting. We have so many exceptional dogs and cats waiting for their forever home.”
During the event, there will also be a reduced fee for adopting a single animal. For more information and directions to the sanctuary, please visit the nonprofit group’s website at www.rainbowfriends.org, or call 982-5110.
On a daily basis, approximately 325 dogs and cats receive nutrition, veterinary care, grooming and lots of love through a corps of giving volunteers under the direction of Mary Rose Krijgsman, founder and president of the sanctuary. Volunteers also are invited to assist with special educational and/or fundraising events such as the recent ShamPooch benefit in March, the day before St. Patrick’s day.
The sanctuary is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, no-kill sanctuary that cares for and finds homes for abused, neglected or homeless animals.
