Patrick Madden, director of the United Nations Association USA, will speak on “The Gender Agenda” at the University of Hawaii at Hilo in Campus Center 306 on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
This is in celebration of International Women’s Day.
Other events for the week include the annual meeting of the UNAUSA Hawaii chapter on Tuesday. This will be a luncheon in honor of the late Helene Hale, who established the chapter.
On Wednesday, the film “Half the Sky” will be shown in Campus Center 306 at 5 p.m.
On Thursday, a HITTS transmission from the UH-Manoa campus will focus on women’s issues around the world. This will be in the second-floor library at UHH.
On Friday, which is the official International Women’s Day, local event coordinators will offer information on resources available to women. The public is invited.
