Veterans Day ceremony set at memorial
The American Legion Hilo Post No. 3 and Ladies Auxiliary Unit No. 3 invite the community to a sunrise salute ceremony to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the dedication of the Big Island Vietnam Veterans Memorial Monument at 7:30 a.m. on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11, at the Wailoa State Park memorial in Hilo.
The post and its auxiliary unit “cordially invite families and friends to participate in the floral tribute portion of the ceremony to honor the 50 fallen soldiers who answered the call of their country from the Big Island and made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam,” said Hilo Post Commander Harvey Motomura.
