Boy, 3, dies after being run over by Big Island
(AP) — Authorities say a 3-year-old boy died on the Big Island after he was run over by a pickup truck.
The accident happened Friday afternoon on Ohia Avenue in the Eden Roc Subdivision.
Police say the toddler was playing in the parked truck when it got into gear and started to move. The boy jumped out of the truck, and it rolled over him.
Paramedics rushed the child to the Hilo Medical Center, where he died.
Investigators say the incident occurred when the boy’s parents were working and he was being watched by his grandfather.
