Court date set for Kaumana burglary suspect

A 29-year-old Hilo man allegedly caught on video burglarizing his next door neighbor’s Kaumana home will appear before Hilo Circuit Judge Greg Nakamura for arraignment and plea on Aug. 7 at 8 a.m.

On Wednesday, Justin Edison Fergerstrom waived his right to a preliminary hearing. He’s charged with three counts of burglary, plus unauthorized entry to a motor vehicle.

Hilo District Judge Harry Freitas reduced Fergerstrom’s bail from $85,000 to $35,000. Fergerstrom remained in custody Wednesday evening at Hawaii Community Correctional Center.
