Gabbard to speak at UH-Hilo
U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, will serve as the keynote speaker on Saturday, May 11, for the University of Hawaii at Hilo’s commencement ceremony.
The graduation event will begin at 9 a.m. at Edith Kanakaole Stadium. This year, students have petitioned for a total of 765 degrees and/or certificates, with 33 additional students candidates for various post graduate honors and another 26 seeking the teacher education program certificate.
Ashlee Kalauli, a math major with a minor in chemistry, will represent the Class of 2013 as student speaker. She has maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.87 at UHH while earning numerous academic honors and awards.
