House burns in HPP

No one was injured in a Sunday afternoon house fire in Hawaiian Paradise Park.

According to a Fire Department statement, eight units responded to the 2:05 p.m. alarm. The first unit arrived on scene at the Lemiwai Road home at 2:16 p.m., to find the structure fully engulfed in flames.

The fire was reported under control at 4:16 p.m. and extinguished at 5:45 p.m.

No estimate of damage was provided, but county tax records indicate the assessed value of the structure owned by Martin and Linda Peters was $260,700.

The Red Cross responded to the scene to meet with the home’s residents and to provide emergency food, shelter and clothing.
