Isle roadwork announced
The state Department of Transportation has announced the following roadwork. Note that lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice, and all projects are weather permitting.
— Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) in both directions between Koko Iki Road and Ala Kahua Drive, in the vicinity of Mahukona between mile-markers 6.9 and 14.8, from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesdays through Friday for roadway paving work.
— Alternating single-lane closures on Kohala Mountain Road in both directions between mile-markers 2 and 7, in the vicinity of Waiaka Junction, from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday for pavement resurfacing.
— Alternating single-lane closures on Mamalahoa Highway in both directions between Hina Lani Street/North Kona Belt Road and Olda Kona Village Road from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday for pavement resurfacing.
— Alternating lane closures on Mamalahoa Highway (Highway 11) in both directions near mile-marker 109 between Kiloa Road and Coffee Drive, in the vicinity of Kealakekua, from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday-Friday for roadway paving work.
— Lane shifts on Volcano Road (Highway 11) in the northbound direction in the vicinity of the Keaau Bypass Road intersection between East Palai Street and Keaau-Pahoa Road from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday for roadway reconstruction work.
— Alternating single-lane closures on Volcano Road (Highway 11) in both directions in the vicinity of Kulani Road between South Pszyk Road and Kukui Camp Road from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday for roadway striping and traffic signal installation work.
