Hilario Bajet Baltero Sr., 101, of Kealakekua died Aug. 5 at home. Born in the Philippines, he was a laborer with the former Puna Sugar Co., a coffee farmer and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Friends may call at 8 a.m. Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Keei Ward; service at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at the church cemetery. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Survived by sons, Frederick Baltero of Pahoa, Hilario (Harrilyn) Baltero, Jr., of Mililani, Oahu, Randolph (Elaine) Baltero and Leonard (Jackie) Baltero of Paradise Park, Raymond (Christine) Baltero of Honalo, Alfred (Leaticia) Baltero of Kealakekua; daughters, Sarah (Alvin) Villanueva of Utah, Lillette Beckett of Kealakekua; sisters, Juanita Pasqua of Riverside, Calif., Marina Ballesteros of Carson, Calif., Claudia de Peralta of Canada; 25 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Jonathan “Jon” Erece Blanco, 27, of Kalaoa died Aug. 8 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Pahala, he was a houseman for a hotel in Kona and a member of the Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Michie Kamitaki, 91, of died July 28 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kona, she was a public health nurse for the state. Interment at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Sonny Puerto, 81, of Keaau died Aug. 5 at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in the Philippines, he retired as an bartender for the Manele Bay Hotel on Lanai. Harold Santiago, 73, of Hilo died Aug. 9 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hakalau, he retired as a sugar plantation Farmer for Hamakua Coast Plantation and was a U.S. Army veteran.
