Roger Lee Ardolino, 64, of Kailua Kona died Jan. 26 at home. Born in Connecticut, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, a roofer in the construction Industry and member of the roofer’s union. Survived by partner, Kim Beatty of Kailua Kona; sister Leanne Dendas of Connecticut; one nephew, two nieces, one great-nephew and five great-nieces. Military Honors at 9 a.m. today at West Hawaii Veteran Cemetery. Arrangements by A Hui Hou Crematory & Funeral Home of West Hawaii.
Mabel Mary Garcia, 80, of Hilo died Jan. 14 at the Hilo Medical Center. Survived by, among others, son Dennis Garcia of Nevada. Incorrect information was provided in yesterday’s obituary.
Jeanine Henriette Hickman, 78, of Hilo, died Jan. 16 at Hilo Medical center. Born in Bordeaux, France, she was a retired accountant. Survived by son, Richard (Terri Wright) Hickman of Kailua-Kona; daughter Danielle (Jonathon) Mendoza of Hilo; sister Bibiche Martinhac of France; two grandchildren. Masao “Masa” Oda, 82, of Aiea, Oahu, died Jan. 8 at St. Francis Hospice West, Oahu. Born in Puna, he was a Korean War army veteran and a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Service held on Oahu. Survived by wife, Masae Oda; one son, one daughter, and brothers, Hisao (Janet), Stuart and Sean Oda. Arrangements by Hosoi Garden Mortuary.
