Big Island police have identified the second driver who was killed Sunday night in a head-on collision between Papaikou and Pepeekeo as 65-year-old Frank Rosol of Hakalau.
Police say Rosol was driving a 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck north on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) on the Hanawi Bridge when he apparently crossed the centerline and collided with a southbound 2005 Cadillac Escalade sport-utility vehicle driven by 61-year-old Miles T. Nakanishi of Hilo.
Both drivers were dead at the scene.
