Thousands of pot plants eradicated

Marijuana eradication missions in East Hawaii last week uprooted 8,097 plants, a state Department of Public Safety spokeswoman said Tuesday.

The department’s Narcotics Enforcement Division flew the helicopter missions in the Hilo and Puna areas between Aug. 12-14.

No arrests were made, the spokeswoman said.
