Woman hurt in plunge off cliff

A 53-year-old woman was airlifted to Hilo Medical Center on Wednesday after falling off a cliff in Laupahoehoe.

The unidentified woman fell from her yard and landed on the Old Laupahoehoe Point Road hiking trail, according to the Hawaii County Fire Department.

She was awake and alert, though the extent of her injuries was unclear.
